The photograph is a panorama of Villahermosa del Río, with houses stepping up the slope, the church on the right and mountains closing the horizon. It is not a close view of the Nativity Church or Carbo waterfall. The village’s position indicates steep streets and separate routes towards the river.

The town walk descends towards the Carbo

White, steep streets connect Plaza de la Iglesia, the town hall and Arco del Cura before descending towards the river. The village was rebuilt after destruction during the War of the Spanish Succession. Its profile in the image explains this adaptation to the slope better than a list of isolated monuments.

The Nativity Church holds a parish collection

Nuestra Señora de la Natividad Church contains Gothic and Renaissance altarpieces in a sacred-art collection whose origins reach the late fourteenth century. Seeing the bell tower from outside does not mean the objects are accessible: church and collection may have separate visiting arrangements.

The waterfall requires a route, not a short detour

The River Carbo links Villahermosa with the Penyagolosa massif through mule tracks and sections of the GR 7. The waterfall lies outside the village and requires planning for distance, return, water and weather. It should not be confused with the bridge near the settlement, reached by a much shorter walk.

This documentary review corrects the image and distinguishes panorama, church, bridge and Carbo route. It does not verify opening, displayed objects, flow, swimming, signs, surfaces, rockfall, fire restrictions, signal, water or accessibility on site.
