The photograph is a close view of the round Zeit Abu Zeit Tower in Argelita’s church square. Masonry, a raised round-arched doorway, metal stairs and the museum sign are visible. Houses and a hillside appear behind, but neither the Villahermosa River nor the complete former palace is shown.
The defensive tower contains the municipal museum
The tower formed part of Abu Zeit Palace’s outer defences. It has a circular plan, three levels and a crenellated top, and retains an Arabic inscription dated 1252. Its museum holds ethnological tools, but the photograph establishes only the exterior entrance, not that the collection was open at that moment.
The palace consisted of separate structures
The square tower on Calle Ludiente, the round tower and a third, lost tower formed the former palatial complex. “Castle remains” therefore does not accurately describe one ruin beside the museum. Each tower has its own form, position and later transformation within the village.
The Villahermosa shapes the outer valley
Argelita stands beside the Villahermosa River, which waters its farmland before continuing towards the Mijares. The valley can be reached from the centre, but the riverbank is a separate visit from the tower. Buey Negro Castle occupies a more distant height and survives in ruinous condition.
This documentary edit limits the image to the Tower Museum and separates palace, river and outer fortress. It does not verify opening, collection, inscription, stairs, river, swimming, farmland, paths, ruins, stability, signs or accessibility on site.
