The photograph is a panorama of Villamalur from the opposite slope. The village, church tower on the left, terraces and woodland are visible; rural structures and a telecommunications mast appear on the right. It is not a close view of either castle remains or trenches.

The village occupies a Sierra de Espadán ridge

The settlement stands at about 644 metres above fields and ravines in the north-western sector of Sierra de Espadán Natural Park. The photograph explains this position better than a list of sights. Streets and parish church form the urban area; the castle stands nearby.

The castle preserves Islamic structures

The fortification is of Islamic construction and retains remains of towers, walls and a cistern. Its location controlled the surrounding relief, but what survives is a ruin rather than a reconstructed enclosure. Mountain access must be judged section by section in its current condition.

The trenches occupy several heights

Civil War systems are distributed across El Cabezo, El Jupillo and El Lobanar. Walls and cuts surround positions that used the visibility of the ridges. They are not one trench beside the village; Cuatro Caminos ice house and the GR-36 are separate features in the municipality.

This documentary review corrects the image and distinguishes village, castle and military positions. It does not verify conservation, signs, route, unexploded material, surfaces, gradient, woodland, fire restrictions, signal, ownership, railings or accessibility on site.
