Vilar de Canes: San Lorenzo Church, olive mill and rural landscape

Official sources dedicate the parish church to San Lorenzo, not the Purification. The photograph shows its façade and tower; this guide corrects the label.

The photograph shows Vilar de Canes parish church, dedicated to San Lorenzo according to official tourism sources. Its tower, bell, clock, part of the doorway and roof can be seen. The previous identification as the Church of the Purification was incorrect.

San Lorenzo presides over the village

Turisme Comunitat Valenciana dates the church to the 18th century. The view reveals rubble masonry, ashlar on the tower and the façade’s curved top, although cables and the low angle obscure part of the doorway. Interior access cannot be inferred from the image.

The former olive mill explains production beyond cultivation

The provincial inventory includes a former olive mill, while the regional guide presents it as an Olive Oil Interpretation Centre in Carrer Sagristia. This connects local olive groves with traditional production without claiming that machinery operates or the building is always open.

Camins del Senyoriu crosses rural heritage

The PR-CV 405 proposal starts in Plaça de la Setena and passes wells, farmsteads, dry-stone structures and viewpoints. Current route, signs, distance, weather and ground condition should be checked before walking.

This documentary edit corrects the dedication and distinguishes church, olive mill and rural landscape. It does not verify worship, bell, clock, interior, oil centre, machinery, trail, signs, hours, parking or accessibility on site.
