A family meeting the conditions for Valencian children’s pharmacy copayment support should not normally have to advance the charge whenever a prescription is collected. The health authority identifies beneficiaries automatically and applies the exemption when the SIP card is presented. The procedure matters when the exemption is missing, the data are disputed or eligible costs have already been paid.
The 2026 scheme covers Valencian Community residents under 18 who hold an individual health card and whose household taxable base is below €18,000. They must be recorded either as a beneficiary of an insured person under contribution code TSI 003 or as receiving healthcare in special circumstances under code F003. The income reference is the taxable base from the latest available return, not the household’s gross monthly income.
Check the SIP record first
Award status can be checked at the health centre, at a pharmacy or orthopaedic supplier, and through the regional health authority’s online query. The online service accepts the SIP number and date of birth, or Cl@ve and an electronic certificate. Where support is recognised, an authorised pharmacy applies the exemption to eligible treatment when dispensing the prescription.
Not every health-related purchase is covered. Eligible expenditure concerns publicly funded medicines prescribed by a doctor in the public health system and obtained during 2026 from an authorised pharmacy in the Valencian Community. A non-funded medicine, a purchase without a public prescription or one made outside that route does not become reimbursable simply because the income threshold is met.
If the pharmacy continues to charge, procedure GVA 109112 allows a discrepancy to be reported on grounds of income, minor status, disability or another error in the percentage applied. Before submitting a fresh application, the family should check which contribution code appears in SIP and whether income and beneficiary data are current, since the problem may lie in information exchanged between authorities.
Amounts already paid require evidence
Recovering paid amounts requires the support application, the reimbursement form and, if the account is not already registered with the Generalitat, bank-account registration. Dispensing or payment evidence identifying the expense should be retained. The request can be filed electronically or at the child’s assigned health centre; where there is no assignment, it goes to the relevant territorial health service.
The application window runs from 1 January to 31 December 2026. The administration has three months to decide and notify; if that period expires without a decision, the application is deemed refused. That silence does not establish that SIP data are correct: it may support a challenge, but the case file and any request for missing information should first be checked.
Income-based support is distinct from the national exemption for children with a recognised disability of at least 33%, which is a separate entitlement. Where both circumstances exist and the pharmacy unexpectedly charges, the discrepancy notice should identify the correct ground and include the evidence relevant to it.
