Alicante’s municipal telecare pendant connects to a staffed centre around the clock, every day. It supports emergencies, insecurity, loneliness and isolation, helping users remain independent at home.
It is not restricted to older people living alone. Eligible profiles include over-65s with limited autonomy or vulnerability; adults with autonomy difficulties or at least 65% disability; families needing support; and people recovering from illness, terminally ill or lacking a sufficient support network.
Residence and income are assessed
The standard rule requires three months of continuous registration and actual residence in Alicante. A technical report and favourable panel decision may waive this condition.
Annual income per household member must not exceed 125% of IPREM over fourteen payments, rising to 200% for a one-person household. Exceptional vulnerability may be assessed temporarily outside the ordinary criteria.
Age, disability or income alone does not guarantee access. The council decides whether telecare is suitable.
Applications remain open year-round
Applications are online or in person by appointment. Common evidence includes household identity documents, the applicant’s SIP health card and a medical report. Disability, income, employment, pension, bank, property and regular-expense records apply as required.
Municipal STAD differs from advanced dependency-system telecare. Changes to IPREM, residence or eligible profiles would require an update.
