The date printed on a DARDE is more than a reminder. Renewing on that day keeps a jobseeker’s LABORA registration active; missing it removes the person from the register and can interrupt unemployment benefit or allowance payments.
LABORA says renewal takes place only on the stated dates unless documented force majeure applies. Spain’s SEPE confirms that failure to renew suspends payment for periods when the person is not registered. Payment resumes from the new registration date after the claimant reports to SEPE.
The new document confirms completion
Renewal is available through Punt LABORA, the GVA Punt LABORA app, self-service terminals and the authorised in-person channels. Digital access uses the DNI or NIE identity number and a personal PIN or code. Once complete, the new DARDE should be downloaded because it contains the next renewal date.
Logging in or seeing an intermediate screen is not proof of renewal. The updated document is the useful record if a problem later arises. Punt LABORA also provides a duplicate of the latest DARDE and certificates covering registration, current status and registered periods.
Municipal partner centres can renew registrations and provide other services to users in their area. Espai LABORA offices handle problems that cannot be resolved online.
A website failure does not automatically extend the deadline
LABORA’s own guidance warns that technical or connection problems do not remove the duty to renew on the set date. If the service fails, screenshots or error messages should be retained and an Espai LABORA contacted as quickly as possible to complete the process and record the problem.
Once the date has passed, waiting for the next one does not repair the lapse. Reactivation or fresh registration should be requested immediately and anyone receiving unemployment support should also contact SEPE. Force majeure needs evidence; a delay alone does not establish it.
Renewal also does not replace the other duties of a registered jobseeker: attending appointments, reporting changes of address, telephone number, qualifications or experience, and returning evidence of attendance when LABORA refers someone to a vacancy.
This article should be reviewed if LABORA changes its channels, identification system, renewal rules or coordination with SEPE.
