20,000 mAh normally describes nominal cell capacity, not the energy that reaches a phone. At a nominal 3.7 V, an illustrative calculation is 20 Ah × 3.7 V = 74 Wh. Use the product’s actual Wh label for transport and comparison.
Nominal and delivered capacity
Electronics convert voltage and lose energy as heat. Cable, output power, temperature and cell condition also matter. Estimate recharges using measured usable Wh and the receiving battery’s energy rather than dividing 20,000 by the phone’s mAh.
Weight and volume
This capacity may be too heavy for a pocket. Check grams and dimensions, visualise the volume and include a cable. For a backpack, protect the ports. For routes or photography, decide whether one large unit or two smaller ones better manages weight and failure risk.

Shared output
“65 W” may describe one port used alone. With two outputs, allocation might become 45 + 20 W or another combination. Find the printed table or manual. Some banks briefly interrupt output to renegotiate when another cable is connected.
Fast input and charger
Check accepted recharge wattage, input port and protocol. Calculate time with margin and note whether the wall charger is separate. An 18 W and a 65 W input produce very different experiences despite identical nominal capacity.
Display and low-current mode
A percentage display is useful but not perfectly calibrated; LEDs show broad intervals. Earbuds and watches may need a low-current mode to prevent early shutoff. Confirm activation and whether the display consumes power during storage.
Flight check
- Find Wh on the case.
- Check authority, country and airline limits.
- Carry it in the cabin when required.
- Protect terminals from short circuit.
- Do not travel with damaged, swollen or recalled batteries.

Reject a model if…
- Wh, per-port power or maker identity is missing.
- Multi-device allocation is unexplained.
- It is too heavy for your routine.
