The photograph gives a general view of Traiguera’s Royal Sanctuary of Font de la Salut. Roofs, domes, bell gable and adjoining buildings can be seen among terraced olive groves. It does not show the interior or the parish church in town.

The sanctuary is a complex, not one isolated building

Its devotional origin is linked to 1384, while most surviving buildings date from the 16th century. They include the church, Casa dels Capellans, hospice, former palace rooms and Prigó Cobert. The church combines 15th- to 18th-century phases and paintings by Vicente Guilló.

The Assumption church reflects a long building process

The town’s parish church has a four-bay nave with side chapels and rib vaults. Work began in 1400 and continued into the 17th century; the octagonal bell tower belonged to the earlier church, while the side door retains 15th-century Gothic ironwork.

The museum interprets objects away from their original settings

Installed in a parish sacristy, the museum holds metalwork, Gothic capitals, coins, ceramics and a Renaissance casket. Its record states that visits are by arrangement, so immediate entry should not be assumed and its collection should not be confused with the photographed sanctuary.

This documentary edit identifies the visible complex and distinguishes sanctuary, parish church and museum. It does not verify worship, paintings, hospice, tower, ironwork, museum, collection, access, hours, parking or accessibility on site.
