The photograph looks up from the street at Càlig Tower, showing its clock, battlements, openings from different periods and the belfry added at the top. It is not the parish church. The framing also excludes the full volume of this medieval defensive building.

The tower changed from defence to cultural use

Càlig Tower is the oldest building in the town centre and once had a defensive role. It now houses the cultural centre; medieval graffiti and later nineteenth- and twentieth-century paintings survive inside. Interior access should not be assumed: guided arrangements and booking depend on the current programme.

San Lorenzo is a separate nearby building

The parish church dedicated to San Lorenzo originated in the fourteenth century and has Renaissance architecture. Its proximity to the tower makes both easy to see on a short walk, but bells, worship and interiors are independent. The Neoclassical Virgen del Socorro Chapel, rebuilt in the eighteenth century, adds another stop beyond this pair.

Dry-stone structures are spread across the district

Huts, shelters and mortarless walls record farming and livestock work outside the centre. The Casetes de la Volta del Terme belong to this dispersed heritage. They are neither a room in the tower nor an urban route: finding them requires the route, surface and respect for land and structures to be considered.

This documentary review identifies the tower and separates its use from church, chapel and rural landscape. It does not verify booking, opening, paintings, worship, works, stairs, railings, paths, ownership, signs or accessibility on site.
