The photograph shows the entrance to Matet. The municipal name sign, speed limit, rising road, homes and trees can be seen. This is neither a panorama of the centre nor a view of San Juan Bautista Church.

San Juan Bautista dominates through scale, not decoration

The church has a long narrow nave under a barrel vault, side chapels and a 26-metre bell tower. The heritage record highlights its sober exterior walls and buttresses supporting the vault. The church lies outside this photograph.

The present fountain reproduces a familiar urban design

A metal fountain with four taps and four lamps stands in Plaza de la Fuente, inspired by Barcelona’s Font de Canaletes. It replaced an earlier stone fountain. This is a specific stop in the centre, separate from the entrance sign in the frame.

El Ruejo preserves tools from olive-oil production

The monument combines an authentic old press with a large conical stone once used to crush olives, set on a stone-and-brick base. Its value lies in explaining local agricultural work, not in suggesting that the equipment remains operational.

This documentary edit corrects the photograph and separates entrance, church, fountain and Ruejo. It does not verify traffic, sign, worship, interior, tower, fountain, water, press, operation, hours, parking or accessibility on site.
