Almedíjar: church square, aqueducts and Almanzor ravine

The photograph shows Almedíjar’s church square. The stone church and clock tower stand on the left; a sloping paved square, homes, vehicles and a small planted area occupy the foreground. This is not an image of either cork-oak woodland or aqueducts.

The square retains the edge of the old enclosure

The council’s history route places the church here beside a round arch that once entered the urban castle. The church is associated with a medieval structure that was subsequently rebuilt, while the square articulates the old settlement’s Christian quarter. The image records its exterior rather than a complete chronology or the interior.

Two aqueducts belong to the water route

An aqueduct associated with the former enclosure survives at the entrance to the village. Beside Almanzor ravine, Acueducto del Cabo follows an Islamic construction tradition and remains integrated into the water system according to the local guide. Both structures differ from the photographed church and require movement along the historical route.

Almanzor leads into cork-oak woodland

The route towards Fuente de Almanzor crosses cork-oak forest and passes charcoal-platform traces, a weir and a monumental sweet chestnut. Castillet, also called Rodana Castle, occupies another height and survives as ruins. Nature, waterworks and fortification are not one combined stop.
