Joining Alicante’s municipal public-housing register does not mean receiving a flat or entering a simple first-come queue. The Municipal Housing Board operates a permanently open competition and allocates available homes according to suitability for the household and the published scoring rules.
Registration remains valid for two years from approval. It must be renewed before that period ends; otherwise the application is removed automatically.
The regional register comes first
The household must already appear on the Valencian Community Housing Demand Register. The lead applicant also needs at least two consecutive years of prior registration as an Alicante resident, an established housing need and income within the chosen programme’s limits.
At initial registration, only the applicant or representative’s DNI/NIE and consent signed by every household member over 14 accompany the form. This is a responsible declaration: the authority may verify details and request supporting evidence before proposing an allocation.
Each person may appear in only one programme, whether as the main applicant or a household member. Any allocated property must become the household’s permanent main residence.
Report changes within one month
Changes to income, address or household composition must be reported within one month. Timely updates preserve the original application date; a new late application may lose that seniority.
Applications are accepted online or in person on the specific form. Renewal must be made by the original lead applicant. Changes to validity, residence or scoring rules would require an update.
