Living in Alicante’s historic centre does not always mean applying for a permit. Residents and property owners whose address inside the restricted area is already recorded for municipal vehicle tax may enter without further authorisation. Otherwise, they must prove their link to the home and vehicle.
Residents, garages, hotel guests, reduced-mobility users and one-off entrants each have a separate route and supporting evidence.
A one-off entry can be reported for ten days
A vehicle entering for a specific reason without a standing permit can report the visit through the council form or at the Sanctions Unit. The deadline is ten calendar days beginning on the entry date; email is not a filing channel.
The online form needs no digital certificate and the council says it responds by email within three working days. In-person service is at Calle Arzobispo Loaces 13 from 9am to 1pm.
Standing permits require evidence of residence and vehicle use
Where the address is not linked to the vehicle, residents provide identification, ownership or tenancy evidence, the registration document and, where necessary, insurance naming them as the regular driver. Approval lasts two years.
Garages, accommodation providers and reduced-mobility card holders supply different evidence. Update this article if the boundary, forms or deadlines change.
