Language schools in Valencia: how to find remaining places and prove your level

Remaining places until January, a 24-hour reservation and placement tests: what to check before enrolling.

Missing the June and September admissions rounds may still leave a route into language classes this year. Official language schools across the Valencian Community can enrol students in remaining places until 31 January 2027. There must be a vacancy in the language, level and timetable you want: the closing date does not mean every school still has places.

Find a specific place first

For 2026–2027, the resolution of 27 April separates the main admissions rounds from enrolment in remaining places. This later stage becomes available to other applicants after students allocated a place have completed enrolment. Each EOI, the Spanish abbreviation for an official language school, publishes vacancies on its website and sets its own process and appointment times.

Ask the school office which groups have space, how to reserve a place and when to complete enrolment. The resolution gives applicants 24 hours to formalise enrolment after obtaining a reservation; otherwise the place is offered to someone else. This stage also covers transfers of an active enrolment and applicants returning to a course they have already passed to refresh their skills.

Establish your level before choosing a course

If you already speak the language, check whether your certificate allows entry to the course you want. If you cannot document your knowledge, ask about a placement test. Departments may run tests during the enrolment period, but you need to check the school’s arrangements: tests are not permanently available at every school.

The result identifies an appropriate course and is valid for that academic year at EOIs throughout the Valencian Community. Taking the test does not guarantee a place. Confirm both your entry level and the availability of a suitable group before assuming you can enrol.

A reservation still requires paperwork

The general entry rule is to turn 16 in the year studies begin. Specific routes exist for applicants over 14 and should be checked with the school. Staff will review entry documents, fees and any entitlement to reduced fees.

Payment alone does not complete enrolment: the school must receive the documents and validate registration. Keep the confirmation and supply anything outstanding by the school’s deadline. For courses starting in the second semester, each EOI sets its own enrolment period.
