Applicants do not have to wait until 65 to request the Valencian Community senior card. People aged 60 to 64 may also qualify if they receive a retirement, widow’s or another pension. From 65, the age condition is met without having to prove pensioner status.
Both groups must live in a municipality within the Valencian Community and submit an application. The regional procedure remains open throughout the year and has no competitive ranking or income comparison: eligibility follows the published conditions.
It proves access to benefits, not one universal discount
The card is personal and non-transferable and must be presented with a DNI or NIE. It provides access to services, benefits and cultural advantages listed in the regional catalogue or agreed with participating organisations. Each organisation sets its own offer, so no single percentage applies everywhere.
Before purchasing or booking, cardholders should consult the current catalogue and the provider’s conditions rather than rely on an old discount list.
There is no annual expiry
The Generalitat states that the card does not require renewal. It remains valid while the circumstances that supported issue continue, and personal changes must be reported. A replacement can be issued after loss.
