Signing the contract and paying does not complete a used-car transfer. When a private buyer purchases from another individual and Valencia is entitled to the tax, the buyer files form 620 within one month.
The declared value can be checked
The tax base is the vehicle’s real value. If the declared price is below official tables, the Valencian Tax Agency may check it and issue an additional bill. VAT-liable dealer sales are outside this case.
The form covers cars, motorcycles, mopeds and specified used boats. The buyer is the taxpayer and may use an accredited representative.
Tax payment and ownership transfer are separate
The 620 receipt is used for the traffic-authority transfer alongside the contract, vehicle papers and identification. Some older vehicles below €20,000 do not require a second filing with the tax agency, but payment and proof remain necessary.
