Losing a job does not automatically create a jobseeker record. Anyone who has never registered with LABORA must complete an initial enrolment to enter the Valencian system and obtain the registration document known as a DARDE. This is separate from claiming unemployment benefit from Spain’s State Public Employment Service, SEPE.
Punt LABORA provides a specific route for people who have never appeared on the register. Enrolment gives access to guidance, training and vacancies, and is a preliminary step when SEPE requires jobseeker status for an unemployment claim.
Initial enrolment, reactivation and renewal differ
First registration is only for people with no previous record. Someone whose earlier registration is inactive should reactivate it. Someone with an active record must renew on the date shown on the DARDE. Confusing these operations can leave a record inactive or lead to an unnecessary appointment.
Punt LABORA lets users renew or reactivate a record, obtain certificates, request guidance, update a CV, apply for courses and view vacancies. After enrolment, applicants should review their work history, telephone number and email because these details are used for notices and recruitment.
LABORA and SEPE have different roles
LABORA manages jobseeker registration in the Valencia region. SEPE decides and pays national benefits and allowances. Registration does not mean a financial claim has been filed: they are separate procedures with separate deadlines.
The DARDE proves the status of the record and gives the next renewal date. Keeping it confirms that enrolment was completed. If the system rejects a first application or finds older details, LABORA should determine whether registration or reactivation is appropriate.
This article should be updated if LABORA changes the first-registration channel, identity requirements or combines enrolment with the initial advisory appointment.
