The Oropesa del Mar tourist complex, previously known as Marina d’Or, has been revitalized under the new name of Magic World Resort, becoming a reference point for quality tourism in the province of Castellón. This project, promoted by a business group with Valencian roots and linked to the García Cuenca family, has involved an investment of nearly 80 million euros. The transformation is not limited to the modernization of infrastructure, but rather redefines the model of tourist attraction, seeking to attract visitors for more months of the year, beyond the traditional summer season.

The Generalitat has highlighted the key role of this project in the reactivation of the territory, emphasizing that private investment, accompanied by institutional support, can generate significant transformations. Carlos Gil, autonomous secretary of Institutional Policy and Territorial Cohesion, visited the facilities together with the delegate of the Consell in Castellón, Susana Fabregat, to witness firsthand the impact of the project. He has highlighted that the success of Magic World Resort demonstrates that talent and business capacity exist in the region, and that with the right conditions, assets can reinvent themselves and generate new opportunities.

The new tourist model is based on experience, innovation and quality, with the objective of turning the destination into an attractive place all year round. This approach not only improves the offer for tourists, but also strengthens the local economy, generating stable employment. Around 1,200 jobs are expected during the high season, with an average workforce of 2,000 people that can reach 3,500 in the months of highest demand.

According to Gil, the public administration cannot replace private initiative, but it does have the responsibility of facilitating the development of projects that generate economic activity and employment. Its role consists of listening to the needs of investors, eliminating obstacles and accompanying the transformation process. This case is presented as an example of how collaboration between the public and private sectors can promote the sustainable growth of a territory.

Magic World Resort, which emerged from the former Marina d’Or, is no longer just a hotel complex, but an integrated tourist ecosystem that caters to different visitor profiles. Its presence in six cities and 22 hotels and resorts reflects a consolidated business trajectory since the 1980s. The evolution of the project not only benefits Oropesa del Mar, but also contributes to the future of the entire province, demonstrating that tourism can be a motor of territorial cohesion and economic development.
