Jalance: La Candelaria oil mill, Don Juan Cave and castle

The image shows the labelled façade of La Candelaria oil mill, not the cave; the underground site and castle are separate visits.

The photograph shows the industrial façade labelled Almazara La Candelaria, with several loading doors and windows; it does not show Don Juan Cave. Its exterior records the building at the time of the photograph but does not establish current use, ownership, opening or condition.

The cave lies outside the town centre

Don Juan Cave is more than ten kilometres from Jalance and contains karst formations including stalactites, stalagmites and columns. Mesolithic and Bronze Age traces have also been identified. Its prepared, guided visitor route has a separate access and no spatial relationship with the photographed oil mill.

The castle occupies a defensive position

Jalance Castle is a medieval fortress of Muslim origin built above the settlement for its strategic value. Tourism information describes approaching the restored area on foot or by vehicle, but this does not establish the condition of each section, traffic arrangements or entry on the day of a visit.

A town route connects other buildings

The municipal cultural route covers about four kilometres and links historic buildings and landmarks in the centre. San Miguel Church, developed from a former mosque over time, and the chapel of the same name on Monte Calvario belong to different settings. The route orders these places without presenting the town merely as an entrance to the cave.

This documentary review corrects the image identification and separates oil mill, cave, castle and town route. It does not verify industrial activity, ownership, opening, booking, temperature, lighting, surfaces, roads, railings, works, accessibility or safety on site.
