Alzira’s social urban-transport card does not renew automatically: it ceases to be valid on 31 December of the year for which it is granted. The card is free, personal and non-transferable, and must be shown with identification. The council still provides the application form.
Eligibility rests on two main conditions. Applicants must actually live in Alzira and have been registered in the municipality for at least two years. Per-person household income must also remain below the limit in the transport ordinance.
The income ceiling changes with household size
The benchmark is Spain’s minimum wage. The maximum per-capita income is 100% of that figure for a one-person household, 110% for two people, 115% for three and 120% for four. The correct band must therefore be applied before household income is divided among its members.
The form contains a declaration about household members and permits the necessary checks. The council may request evidence before deciding if information is missing or family circumstances are unclear.
Applications and collection use different offices
The ordinance directs applications to La Clau at Calle Rambla 23. Once approved, the card is collected from the municipal Works and Infrastructure office at Calle Sant Roc 6. As a named travel pass, it cannot be lent to someone else.
Update when the minimum wage, income percentages or collection locations change.
