A lease alone does not complete a Gandia population-register application. Tenants need the current contract in the applicants’ names, proof of the latest rent payment and a copy of at least one owner’s identity document. Anyone not named on the lease also needs authorisation from both an owner and the named tenant.
Applications can be filed in person or through the electronic office. The registration sheet must be signed by every adult included. Once documents are checked, the office records the address and can issue a certificate if requested.
Ownership evidence depends on the purchase date
A home bought within the past year is evidenced by the deed; after one year, the council asks for a Land Registry note. A property-tax receipt is an alternative. Inheritance or gifts require proof of the new ownership.
Identity documents must be current originals. Requirements differ for EU nationals, other foreign residents and children. Where a child registers with only one parent, consent or custody evidence depends on the family circumstances.
Certificates and slips serve different purposes
Gandia issues signed certificates for procedures such as immigration, tax, employment services or dependency. Unsigned slips are normally used for health cards, ID, driving licences or social dining. Both are available online with digital identification or in person.
If former occupants remain registered, the new application starts an official-removal case; the applicant cannot directly delete third parties.
