San Miguel was built over an earlier church
The parish church was built between 1751 and 1768 over a structure dating from 1633, and opened in 1766. It has three naves, a high choir, separate Communion chapel, barrel vault and Rococo decoration. The crypt beneath it is locally known as the Old Church or Prison.
La Dehesa protects an unusual seasonal lagoon
The 681-hectare protected landscape lies at the eastern edge of the municipality. Its official record highlights a seasonal lagoon on siliceous sands, a flora microreserve, cork and pine woods, a former millstone quarry and El Arenal. Conditions vary and should be checked before visiting.
Three routes interpret water, nature and heritage
The council guide organises visits around Water, Green and Cultural routes. They include the Palancia riverside path, Arco aqueduct, cistern, washhouses, fountains and remnants of a Carlist wall, all outside the town-hall photograph.
