The photograph was taken beside Algimia de Almonacid’s municipal offices. Their sign, balconies with flags, overhead cables and a narrow street between façades fill the frame. Neither the church square nor San Juan Bautista parish church is visible.

The streets adapt to the foot of the range

The old centre consists of narrow, short and stepped streets grouped around the parish church. The photographed street records this domestic scale, although the municipal building alone does not represent all local heritage. Later outer development follows a different pattern from the old centre’s slopes.

San Juan Bautista contains artistic heritage

The masonry church has a nave in three bays, a square-ended chancel and side chapels. Castellón Tourism highlights its Baroque decoration and wall paintings in the Dolores and Sacred Heart chapels. A tower adjoins the south side, but none of these features appears in the image.

Springs, ice house and cave lie outside the village

The municipality extends into Sierra de Espadán among pine and cork-oak woodland. Fuente de la Calzada, the traditional ice house and Cueva del Estuco are separate sites: the cave has difficult access and institutional information advises consulting the council beforehand. They are not an urban continuation of the photographed street.

This documentary edit identifies the image precisely and separates street, church and mountain. It does not verify office opening, worship, paintings, permits, caves, water, surfaces, gradients, rockfall, signs, signal or accessibility on site.
