The photograph is a panorama of Vallibona stepping down the slope beneath limestone cliffs in the Cérvol river valley, with the bell tower among its houses. It is not a close view of one “stone street”: it explains how relief shapes the settlement, gradients and access.

The church combines a tower, porch and interior

The Parish Church of the Assumption of Mary is designated an Asset of Cultural Interest. It retains a Baroque interior, a roof in the Mudéjar tradition and a bell tower associated with an earlier defensive function. Its covered porch resembles a passage between two precinct entrances and has a wooden ceiling; an accessible exterior passage does not establish that the church is open.

The former prison explains charcoal making

The lower town hall contained three cells whose door bolts survive. The restored space houses an interpretation centre for charcoal making, an activity important to the local economy until recent times. This links woodland, occupations and civic architecture, but current opening needs checking before treating it as an interior stop.

Vallibona belongs to the Tinença park area

The municipality was included in Tinença de Benifassà Natural Park because of habitat continuity, although it was not one of the historic Tinença’s seven villages. The Cérvol valley runs between the massif and Serra del Turmell; routes towards summits, chapels or the Cresta del Turmell micro-reserve have their own ascent and conditions.

This edit distinguishes landscape, town and itineraries. It does not verify steps, accessibility, church or centre opening, river flow, rockfall, phone coverage, surfaces or mountain-route safety on site.
