This page brings together reliable starting points for finding social services, dependency support, disability services, older people’s services, children’s services and financial assistance in the Valencian Community. It does not replace municipal social services or an administrative decision.

Start with your municipal social services

Primary social care is normally provided by the town council or an association of municipalities. This is the appropriate starting point for an initial assessment, guidance, a social worker’s report and referral. Find the Social Services section on your municipality’s official website and check whether an appointment is required.

Regional government procedures and resources

  • Family and Social Services — Generalitat Valenciana: a subject-based gateway to dependency support, the Valencian inclusion income scheme, disability, older people, children, centres and grants.
  • Assessment of the degree of dependency: the procedure, requirements, forms and how to apply.
  • IVASS centre finder: locations of centres and services managed by the institute.
  • Generalitat Social Services portal: legislation, programmes, directories and developments in the system.

What to prepare

  • The applicant’s DNI/NIE identification number and contact details and, where applicable, those of their representative.
  • Proof of municipal registration and financial or medical documents only where the procedure requires them.
  • The case reference number, if one exists, and copies of communications received.
  • A brief description of the need and its urgency; in an emergency, use the relevant emergency channels.

How to interpret the information in this section

Directories show that a centre, unit or register exists. They do not confirm available places, entitlement to a benefit or waiting times. Each call for applications has its own dates, requirements and administering body. Always check the current official procedure page and keep proof of submission.
