A man has been arrested by the Civil Guard after suffering serious burns in an incident that occurred in Almassora, when he accidentally set himself on fire while trying to go to a commercial establishment with the intention of threatening his former boss. The incident took place two weeks ago, after his dismissal from his job, which triggered an impulsive action. According to the sources of the armed institute, the detainee traveled to the store with the alleged purpose of causing physical harm to his former boss, although the method he intended to use to carry out the threat has not been specified.

During the attempt, the man suffered an accident that caused him to set himself on fire. The exact circumstances that caused the fire have not been clarified, nor whether any flammable material was used or whether the spark was accidental. The fact is that the impact of the fire left him seriously injured on the spot, which forced the intervention of the authorities. The Civil Guard arrived at the scene and proceeded to his arrest at the moment he was still in an emergency situation.

The detainee was formally arrested for two offenses: serious threats and injuries, both charged after the incident. Although there was no direct damage to the former boss, the fact that the aggressor self-harmed severely has turned the case into one of the most unusual recorded in the area. The incident has generated concern in the local community, not only for the severity of the threat, but for the unexpected way in which the outcome unfolded.

After his arrest, the man was placed at the disposal of Judge No. 1 of Castellón, who now has the case under his jurisdiction. Details about his current health status or the name of the former boss or the affected establishment have not been disclosed. Official statements have also not been made by the former boss or the business. The investigation is still ongoing, and the court will decide the judicial fate of the detainee based on the results of the trial.

The case highlights the importance of properly managing emotional conflicts resulting from job layoffs, especially when these can trigger acts of violence or risk to safety. Although the attempt did not result in direct physical harm to the target, the result was a serious personal accident that highlights the danger of impulsive reactions in situations of work and emotional stress.
