Valencia has activated preventive measures in response to the orange alert for rain and storms, announcing the closure of schools, gardens and sports fields from 2 p.m. This decision is taken to ensure the safety of citizens and prevent incidents related to falling branches, flooding or strong gusts of wind during episodes of rain and storm. In addition, outdoor sports activities and the Extraordinary Maritime Promenade Market have been suspended. In flood-prone areas and villages affected by the DANA, activities in several educational centers have been suspended. The canteen service will remain open until 3 p.m. in these centers.

The City Council has activated the protocol and opened a center to shelter the homeless during the alert. This center will provide a safe place for homeless people during the storm, ensuring their well-being and protection. In addition, additional measures have been taken in specific areas, such as the Turia Garden, the cemeteries and libraries located in them, which have also been closed. The Municipal Sports Foundation has suspended the Reto Metrominuto activity of the European Mobility Week, ensuring the safety of the participants.

Regarding the educational field, activities at the centers located in flood-prone areas and affected by the DANA have been suspended since 2 p.m. This includes private and public centers in villages such as Castellar-Oliveral, Forn d’Alcedo and La Torre. Despite the suspension, the provision of the cafeteria service is guaranteed until 3 p.m. in these centers. The measure extends to several institutes and schools, ensuring the safety of students and educational staff.

In addition, other activities in the city have been suspended, such as the Fallero Congress day, ensuring the safety of participants and attendees. The Carmen meteorological alert CAES has been opened to monitor the situation and provide information to the public. This measure is taken in order to keep all citizens informed and safe during the orange alert.
