The Palau de la Música de València is incorporating for the first time a specific and stable cycle dedicated to the city’s bands. The initiative, called El Palau amb les Bandes, will offer eight free concerts between September 20, 2026 and July 24, 2027.
The programming will begin with the Centre de Música i Dansa de Natzaret. Then the Banda de Música de Campanar, the Agrupació Musical Sant Isidre, the Ateneu Musical del Port, the Agrupación Musical San José de Pignatelli, the Agrupació Musical Santa Cecília del Grau and the AC Falla Jerónima Galés will perform. The CIM Banda de Torrefiel will close the cycle in July 2027.
The concerts will be held in the Iturbi and Rodrigo halls and will have free admission. The City Council of Valencia and the Coordinator of Musical Societies of the city, Cosomuval, are promoting the proposal within the València Music City strategy.
The presentation coincides with the fortieth anniversary of the Palau de la Música. The mayor, María José Catalá, pointed out that the project seeks to give greater visibility to musical societies and bring the cultural activity developed in neighborhoods and hamlets closer to the auditorium.
This first edition brings together eight groups, while the remaining ones will be able to join in subsequent calls. The calendar distributes the performances throughout the season instead of concentrating them on a single date. This way, the bands become part of the regular program of the auditorium and have a continuous showcase in front of the city’s public.
The selection reflects the implementation of music societies in different neighborhoods of Valencia. Natzaret, Campanar, Sant Isidre, the Port, the Grau and Torrefiel are featured in a program that transfers a sustained activity usually held in venues and neighborhood spaces to the main municipal auditorium.
Free access eliminates a barrier to attend, although each concert will be subject to the capacity of the venue. The specific dates and conditions must be consulted in the official program of the Palau.
