The general deadline for the Valencian school transport grant ended on 31 July, but every family has not necessarily lost the opportunity to apply. Pupils joining the education system during the school year because of qualifying unforeseen circumstances have ten working days from enrolment to submit an application through their school.
This exceptional route does not reopen the scheme for anyone who missed the summer deadline. It applies only to late admissions covered by the admissions rules, requires all general conditions to be met and remains subject to available funding. The grant is for pupils entitled to school transport who cannot be placed on an authorised collective route.
Distance is not the only condition
The 2026-27 call covers the second cycle of pre-primary education, primary school, compulsory secondary education and special education in Generalitat-run schools. As a general rule, the main home must be at least three kilometres from the school along the shortest safe and accessible route, and the school must be the one assigned through its catchment area, feeder arrangement or an official placement decision. Pupils in municipalities without the relevant provision and those attending specific special-education schools or units are also covered.
Choosing a school for family convenience does not automatically establish entitlement. The rules exclude placement based on a parent’s workplace address, and an individual grant cannot be awarded where the pupil is already included on a collective route. The territorial education authority checks these conditions using information sent by the school.
Up to €797, doubled for special education
The 2026-27 maxima rise with distance: €340.02 for up to six kilometres; €464.69 for more than six and up to ten; €597 for more than ten and up to fifteen; €730.37 for more than fifteen and up to twenty; and €797.07 above twenty kilometres. For special-education pupils, the corresponding limits are €680.03, €929.37, €1,194, €1,460.73 and €1,594.14.
The application goes through the school
The family must download and complete the official form and submit it, with evidence of eligibility, to the school where enrolment was completed. One joint form is used when siblings attend the same school; separate applications are required if they attend different schools.
Provisional lists are displayed on the school noticeboard and notified through Web Familia. Families then have ten working days from the following day to correct errors or provide requested evidence. Keeping a registered copy of the late application and monitoring school notices are both important: submitting a form does not guarantee an award or replace the later eligibility checks.
