Seven recycling-centre visits cut Castelló’s waste charge by 50%

Three to six deliveries on different days cut the bill by 30%; owners receive the reduction automatically the following year.

Taking waste to a Castelló recycling centre on seven different days in a year cuts a home’s waste tariff by 50%. Three to six visits earn 30%. The test is valid entries on separate dates, not the number of objects delivered.

Deliveries can use the fixed or mobile centres, provided the waste is accepted. The reduction covers homes and properties without commercial use, with only one reduction per taxpayer.

Owners do not file an annual application

Where the owner holds the bill, the council applies the reduction automatically in the following year using operator records. Visits made this year therefore affect a later bill.

Correct identification at each delivery matters. Two deliveries on one day do not create an additional qualifying day.

Tenants follow a separate route

A tenant must apply between 1 January and 1 March with the cadastral reference, current lease, landlord authorisation and proof such as the deposited rental bond or a utility bill. Both parties must be up to date with municipal taxes.

The request need not be repeated while the same lease and tenant remain. Update if visits, rates or deadline change.
