An individual Vila-real population-register certificate can be downloaded instantly from the electronic office under “My data” and “Population register”. It is not open-ended: the council sets a maximum validity of three months from issue, so obtaining it too early may mean downloading it again.
Identified access uses Cl@ve or another accepted system. A representative or authorised person may instead file an application with the relevant identity document: national or foreigner ID, residence permit or EU residence certificate.
A certificate and a residency slip are not always interchangeable
The municipal office provides individual and household slips as well as formal certification. A slip is informational and sufficient for many procedures. A certificate formally proves residence and habitual address and is required where the receiving authority expressly asks for one.
Applicants should read the original request first. If it says “slip”, certification may be unnecessary; if it requires a “certificate”, a slip may be rejected.
Household data needs greater care
Where several people are registered in one home, data-protection rules affect which identities can be shown and what permissions are needed. National rules give particular protection to children and victims of gender-based violence.
