Regular work or volunteering with children requires Spain’s specific sexual-offences certificate. It is free and differs from the general criminal-record certificate, which serves another purpose.
Immediate download requires electronic identification
The Justice Ministry service accepts Cl@ve, supported certificates or electronic ID, with later download through case tracking. Without electronic identification, applicants can start online and subsequently prove identity at an office.
A representative or an application for a minor requires evidence of representation. Organisations may request certificates for authorised workers through the available procedure.
Foreign nationals may need another certificate
The Spanish register only covers convictions known to Spanish justice authorities. A foreign national may also need a criminal-record certificate from their country, with translation or legalisation where applicable.
Update if identification, representation or international exchange rules change.
