Valencia disabled parking cards are requested from the council, not the region

The council verifies reduced mobility and requests the regional number; the card belongs to the person rather than one specific vehicle.

A reduced-mobility parking card is not requested directly from the regional administration. Applicants approach their council, which checks eligibility and then requests a number from the regional parking-card register.

Reduced mobility must be evidenced

The ordinary card requires the disability decision or report to confirm difficulty using collective transport. Ordinary, temporary and collective-transport cards have different evidence and validity.

The card belongs to its holder and may be used in a vehicle carrying them even when they are not driving. Local parking rules and signs still apply.

Regional registration prevents duplicates

After checking the application, the council submits the details. The register checks for another valid card and has five days to allocate a code or report a duplicate to the council.

This article should be reviewed if Decree 72/2016, mobility criteria or local rules change.
