A Valencian hunting licence is not enough on its own to go hunting

The regional licence is available year-round, but insurance, initial qualification and permission to use the land remain essential.

A regional licence does not by itself authorise hunting anywhere in the Valencia region. It confirms administrative eligibility, but insurance where required, permission for the land, open-season rules and other documents still apply.

Applications are open year-round. Type A covers hunting with bows, firearms and similar methods and includes hunting without firearms; B is for methods without firearms; C covers packs of dogs for big-game hunting.

Prior registration determines online access

To obtain a licence online without a certificate, applicants must already appear in the Valencian hunter and angler register through prior enrolment, an earlier licence or completion of the qualification course. First-time applicants should check whether they must prove aptitude.

Types A and B cost €5 for one year or €37.10 for three in 2026. Type C costs €23.09 for one year and €64.66 for three. People over 67 and other specified groups are exempt from A or B fees, but still require the licence.

Insurance, weapons and land have separate rules

A hunting licence does not replace firearms documentation. Civil liability insurance is compulsory where the law requires it, and permission from the hunting-ground rights holder is also needed.

Minors provide identification and legal representative authorisation. This article should be reviewed when fees, seasonal hunting orders, aptitude rules or registration requirements change.
