Cinctorres combines urban heritage and palaeontology, but visiting arrangements differ between resources. The photograph shows Sant Lluís Bertran chapel and fountain at the entrance to town, not the Dinosaur Museum. The Dinomania collection is associated with Palau dels Santjoans, while the Ana site lies outside the centre.

Sant Lluís introduces the urban visit

The present chapel dates from the seventeenth century and replaced an earlier structure. From here the route enters towards the square, Sant Pere church and Palau dels Santjoans. Visits to the chapel, church and other venues leave from Tourist Info at specified times; do not present their interiors as permanently open.

Palace, collection and site are not the same

The “Ana, a living site” exhibition in the Casa or Palau dels Santjoans explains excavation, scientific results and fossil preparation. The Ana site, discovered in 1998, is a different location at Mas Roig, where hundreds of Early Cretaceous fossils have been recovered.

The regional listing consulted on 29 August 2026 says the museum is closed for restoration while a guided site visit and a fossil display at the tourist office are offered. This can change: book and confirm which component is available before travelling.

The uplands need separate planning

Dinosaur routes and Rambla de Celumbres extend the visit into the landscape but are not part of the short urban walk from Sant Lluís to the palace. Select an itinerary, check weather, ascent and signs, and distinguish display replicas from original fossils held or studied by specialists.
