From October 5, the ValenciaportPCS platform introduces a key change in the logistics management of the Valencia port, by allowing the automatic generation of the Electronic Administrative Control Document (DeCA) directly from the Unified Transport Document (DUT). This update, driven by the Port Authority of Valencia (APV), responds to the new transport regulations and seeks to simplify processes that previously required manual intervention. Now, contractual shippers and effective transporters will be able to obtain the DeCA without the need to repeatedly fill in data, which improves the efficiency of the information flow from the beginning of transportation.
The main advancement of this update lies in the automation of the process. Previously, users had to enter the same data in two different documents: first in the DUT and then in the DeCA. With the new functionality, the system automatically extracts information from the DUT to generate the DeCA without human intervention. This integration eliminates frequent errors derived from manual transcription and significantly accelerates the entire logistics process, reducing times and improving the accuracy of records.
Once activated, the DeCA becomes immediately accessible to all parties involved in transportation, ensuring transparency and security in the exchange of information. In addition, the document is stored in a public repository that can be consulted quickly by scanning a QR code. This feature allows inspectors, companies or any authorized entity to verify the status of the document in real time, facilitating the control and traceability of the movements of goods.
The platform creates a common environment within ValenciaportPCS where all transport actors can manage, share and consult their DeCAs without technical or access barriers. This integration promotes greater collaboration between the different agents of the port system, aligning the port’s operation with European standards of transparency and digitization. The advancement reinforces Valencia’s positioning as a modern and efficient logistical node, capable of adapting to the current requirements of international transport.
For those who need technical assistance, the ValenciaportPCS User Service Center (CAU) is now available to address inquiries related to the use of the platform. While the specific details of the regulations can be consulted at the Ministry of Transport, the APV has designed this update to facilitate compliance without overburdening users. This step represents an important milestone in the digital transformation of the Valencia port, consolidating its commitment to innovation and operational efficiency.
