Valencia CF faced Real Sociedad in a key match of the 7th day of LaLiga EA Sports, held on September 20, 2026 at the Mestalla stadium. The match took place under an atmosphere full of expectations, after the defeat of the reserve team, Valencia CF B, against CD Castellón B in a previous duel. Despite the adverse result in the lower categories, the main team started intensely and managed to take the lead in the score thanks to a goal by Aaron Mayol, who cheered the Valencian fans during the first minutes of the match.

Real Sociedad responded decisively, managing to equalize the score and subsequently take the lead, which altered the course of the match. The home team tried to react strongly, but failed to maintain the necessary pace to reverse the situation. Despite the opportunities generated, the team led by Óscar Sánchez could not maintain the lead, leading to a 2-3 defeat that left a feeling of frustration among the fans.

One of the most outstanding moments of the match was the debut of the young Aimar Bázquez, a player trained in the club’s youth categories. The young player scored the second goal for Valencia CF, becoming the 127th player to debut with the first team since 1992. His goal, in addition, was the first in his career with the first team, a personal milestone that generated excitement among the fans and the coaching staff. His presence on the field was seen as a reflection of the club’s future project, focused on the training of local talent.

After the match, several players shared their impressions. Hugo Duro, author of the team’s last goal, thanked the constant support of the fans, highlighting the importance of the support in key moments. The Dutch center back De Haas stated that the team deserved a more favorable result, highlighting the effort shown on the field. For his part, coach Óscar Sánchez praised the team’s attitude, noting that it demonstrated that it was alive and eager to change the course of the game, although the final result did not reflect the effort deployed.

The match, commented by Luis Urrutia together with Nacho Sanchis, Carlos Egea and Juanjo Rodri on À Punt, was a reflection of the emotions experienced by the team in a season that is still in its early stages. Although the defeat leaves Valencia CF in a delicate position in the table, the collective performance and Bázquez’s debut generated a spark of hope among the fans. The club continues focused on consolidating its project, with special attention to the youth academy and the improvement of performance at home, seeking to recover the path towards competitiveness.
