Start understanding Pla de Nadal at the museum
MUPLA is inside Riba-roja castle and holds objects from the Pla de Nadal archaeological site. Its displays explain architecture, decoration and inscriptions, alongside the work of stonecutters, plasterworkers and painters. This provides a way to imagine an inhabited, decorated building rather than only a ground plan of ruins.
The museum’s name is not its address
Turisme Comunitat Valenciana locates the Visigothic museum in the castle’s Oratory Room. This matters when planning arrival: searching a map for Pla de Nadal can suggest the archaeological site when the intended destination is the collection displayed in town.
More than one collection in the castle
The Parc del Túria portal identifies MUPLA, the Castle Ceramics Museum and the contemporary art space inside the castle complex. They offer different subjects in the same setting. We suggest choosing the collection that interests you before allocating time, rather than treating the castle and each museum as separate journeys.
To visit the archaeological site as well, check its meeting point and access arrangements separately. Seeing the museum does not mean having a reservation for the site. We do not propose a walking connection between them without a confirmed route.
Tourism information describes accessibility resources at the museum; visitors who need a particular facility should confirm availability for their chosen date. Those provisions should not be assumed to apply to the archaeological site or the entire town walk. This documentary review does not replace that check.
