The photograph shows Olocau Town Hall in Plaza Mayor, with its coat of arms, balconies and flags. It is neither Puntal dels Llops nor Castillo del Real. The nearby Casa de la Senyoria, housing Tourist Info and the Iberian museum collection, is a useful starting point for understanding both sites.
The Puntal preserves an Edeta watchpost
Occupied between the fifth and second centuries BC, the settlement controlled Edeta’s territory from an elevation of 427 metres. Its wall, tower and rooms opening onto a central street remain legible. From the parking area beside the CV-25, a signed path climbs 1.5 kilometres and 130 vertical metres; independent access and guided visits follow different rules.
Casa de la Senyoria connects objects and landscape
The late eighteenth-century manor incorporates the thirteenth-century, Islamic-origin Torre de Pardines. It displays objects excavated at the Puntal alongside a wine cellar, oil press and the counts’ rooms. Seeing the collection before the climb helps identify the domestic, agricultural and craft activities documented by archaeology.
Castillo del Real requires a separate walk
The eleventh-century fortress stands in the Sierra Calderona and is not part of the town-centre walk. The official circular route covers about 7.5 kilometres and 285 metres of ascent, including an 800-metre out-and-back spur to the castle. It also links Font del Frare and dry-stone structures.
This documentary review corrects the image identification and separates town, settlement and fortress. It does not verify opening, bookings, capacity, heat, fire restrictions, surfaces, gradient, works, signs, water, railings or accessibility on site.
