What to see

Medieval tower

The tower was built in the late fourteenth or early fifteenth century for Mosén Pedro de Castellví and Yolanda Pardo as a watchtower and final refuge. It preserves graffiti dating from the sixteenth to eighteenth centuries and a viewpoint over the Vall de Pop; confirm opening arrangements before visiting.

Traditional village centre

The municipal heritage route begins in the town-hall square and continues through Sequeret, Parres, Placeta Nova, Solo, Porxe and Ravalet streets. Along the way are stone façades, details derived from Arabic building traditions and the former palace of the Barons of Alcalalí.

Almond groves and vineyards

The municipality combines almond, vine and olive cultivation with the slopes of the Vall de Pop. From the tower there are views towards Coll de Rates, Parcent, Mount Pop, Seguili and Xaló; check waymarking and weather before using rural paths.

Ethnological Museum

The museum occupies the former oil mill of the San José Agricultural Cooperative at 33 Carrer Porxe. Restored machinery and tools explain how olives were pressed for oil and grapes processed for wine; confirm that the museum is open before travelling.

Landscape and nature

  • valleys, mountain ranges and terraced landscapes of the Marina Alta
  • rural routes and Mediterranean viewpoints

Local food

  • rice dishes, fish and Marina Alta cuisine
  • muscat grapes, raisins, almonds and dry-farming produce

Practical information

Allow roughly three to five hours for the centre and main local places. Streets may include slopes or uneven surfaces, so confirm opening conditions, carry water and adapt the route to the group’s mobility. When the route includes interiors, also check the last admission time.
